Preface

I know we're getting to this a little late since Paige is nearly 4 months old (!!!) now, but the first 3 months have been a total whirlwind and we decided we wanted to start this project to document how fast this kid grows. So to start off, let's talk about where Paige is at right now:

  • Crazy tall! She is off the charts for height and weight, but she is tall and super skinny (lucky girl).
  • Eating about 7 ounces every 3 hours. Today was her first day starting solids because our little piglet eats so much! More on this later.
  • Very sweet and playful - this girl almost never cries unless she is hungry or exhausted! She is still a little shy with anyone but Mommy or Daddy but she's warming up.
  • Can sit without support for short amounts of time, has total head control, can stand with minimal balance support for long periods, babbles, giggles and smiles, squealing with delight, and can reach for toys to "play" with them (usually putting them in her mouth).
  • Sleeps about 8 hours straight at night. She has a very strict self-imposed bedtime of 7:30 pm. Every day at 7 we start her bedtime routine and if she stays up even half an hour later, she gets cranky (very unusual for her). She sleeps until about 3 or 3:30 am then sleepily takes a feeding and diaper change and goes back to bed until about 7 am.
  • Hates her car seat with a passion! It's still difficult to take her anywhere. Once she's in her stroller or a shopping cart, she'll usually be a good sport until it's time to get back in the car.
  • Speaking of shopping, this girl loves it (just like her mommy). Inevitably we need to run out to Target for wipes or laundry detergent once a week and she loves looking around and smiling at people.
  • Loves her cloth diapers and has recently started to help me pull them up on herself. She has grown into her size 2's and wears 9 month clothes.
  • Favorite things to do are bounce and spin around in her jumper, play with her exersaucer, play with toys in her playroom, play "peekaboo baby" (this game definitely needs a post all of its own with pictures), go for walks, and play on her activity gym.
  • Favorite toys are her elephant lovey (blanket with a stuffed animal attached) for napping with or when she gets fussy. She also likes her O ball a lot and her links from her aunt Ashley.

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I'll do my best to update the blog everyday with pictures and new stuff Paige is doing. It seems like everyday she learns a new trick or hits a new milestone and we know one day we'll look back and be glad we did this!
